Amongst all of the changes this past year has brought, including one daughter well on her way to becoming a young lady, and a four year-old who insists that he is old enough to go to school just like his brother, I have been happy to note that our second born is quite content to remain firmly in the realm of boyhood. Legos, Redwall books, Hardy Boys, and drawing battle scenes are his current passions. The other night, after our babysitter brought over the movie Ever After, Cameron inquired of me how many more years he had before girls would become interesting to him. Sensing that he was looking for a longer rather than a shorter number, I reponded that he had a good ten years. Sure enough, he uttered an audible sigh of relief and turned back to Star Wars battle re-enactments.
Cameron ensured that he would be popular on his birthday, at least with his fellow classmates, by passing out lolly bags at school.
His siblings managed to share the one remaining bag after school today without squabbling, much to their mom's relief.
And to fulfill his Grandmother Wilkin's request, here is the birthday boy a few weeks ago, in his winter uniform.
The Johnston Family sends you a big "Happy Birthday" Cameron!!!!!
