The first signs of spring made their appearance shortly after we returned from our five week trip to North America in early August, nearly six weeks earlier than last year, according to our memories at least. Not that we have been complaining. Far from it. Occasionally a cold, rainy day has intruded into the lovely stretch of sunshine and mild temperatures that have formed the last half of winter and the beginning of spring, making us all the more grateful for the warmer, brighter weather.
My camera has been busy attempting to capture the glorious colors of this most recent season, most often in our front garden, but also on walks throughout our suburb. I do believe that our front walkway has reached its peak of color and beauty during the past two weeks with various shades of pinks in the azalea bushes. The freesia continue to beckon, and I have included yet more pictures of them in the following collection of the colors of spring 2011.
Beautiful pictures Christie!
